2.4 Ghz Band Speed Test

INSTALLATION AND SET UP
Though the package contains the installation manual in it. But for your ease, a more clarified and simplified step by step installation and setup steps are given here.
Router Configuration:
First of all, is the physical installation of the device. For that, you need to remove all the extra cables and connect the adapter into the plug to get that blinking light that signifies that the device has turned on.
Now after this you need to connect to the internet to the router. For this purpose, you need to connect an ethernet cable from the modem into the internet port. The internet port is located aside from all the other ports on the device.
Now, it’s time to connect it to the computer. For this, you are again going to need an ethernet cable to connect it from the internet port of the CPU to any of the ports in the router.
After getting all this physical installation done, The next step is the Router Login. This is done by going into the web browser and going to the http://192.168.0.1.
By going on any of the links, you will be directed to the login screen. This is done in the Netgear Genie app.
You are then required to enter your default username and password.
After setting up network name and password and the security questions. It may ask you to update the firmaware. If it prompts then update the firmware because in the new firmware many router problems are resolved.
In the Netgear Genie app you will see all the router controls. You will see all basic set of controls in the Netgear Genie app Basic App. This includes managing network connection, setting up username and password, managing connected devices, Setting up QoS, parental Controls and so on.
In the advanced Tab, there are further settings and configuration that you can see and manage. Different Frequency bands can be managed from here
Netgear Genie app is also available on mobile and you can manage your Netgear Nighthawk X10 Wireless Router through web interface or Netgear Genie app on mobile. Netgear Nighthawk app can also be used for the same purpose (but with limited options)
